Let's go to the Movies - ON THE INTERNET
This streaming video everyone's doing these days? Tonight I'm doing it, because I'm drunk and lonely and have all these great movies sitting around. I'm going to post a complete list of the (English language) movies in my possession as fast as I can write it, and I'm going to take suggestions, and if anyone's interested we can chat and have a moderately good time. In maybe 6-10 hours from now I'm going to bed and then we'll see how much I can queue up for you. How does that sound?
Check it out at https://new.livestream.com/accounts/...events/1606766 (You may need to register at the site to watch the stream.) To begin with, I shall be playing the 15 minute Oscar winning movie The Lost Thing. Probably a few times until someone makes a suggestion. When you read this post it will be being edited. Now playing Talladega Nights. In a world of comedies about really stupid dudes hurting themselves through their stupidity, Will Ferrell and his trusted team of comedians stood up and said "What if we made a comedy about some really stupid dudes hurting themselves?"
This is truly an achievement in ignorance. Ricky Bobby is a man so stupid that in the course of one telephone call he can forget that his best friend stabbed him in the back by marrying his wife and moving into his house and go back to making good conversation with said buddy like nothing ever happened - not once or twice but like five times. And everyone else in the movie is just that kind of balls-breaking, immune to insult, immensely, proudly dumb. And they go on being dumb for two hours. Talladege Nights represents an entirely new level of "let's laugh at these dumbasses for hurting themselves through their monumental stupidity" humor. I like that.

Now Playing Grave of the Fireflies. The saddest movie ever without contest; it breaks my heart just thinking about it. I suppose it'll be even more sad drunk. And alone. I must be crazy.

Well this has been an unmitigated failure. Let's blame it on timezones and bad weather and bury this whole idea deep down and never bring it up again. I watched Jacob's Inferno for the first time and barely caught a single word of the plot. I think one person came by and watched the stream intermittently; I have no idea who and he or she never said anything.

Oh, I think this idea could be quite the good one, if we organize it a bit further in advance, to secure some more people to come by.

I've managed to hit up some of Shyria's on the weekend, you gotta warn us all in advance, though.

It had more loading times than Sonic 2006 for me so, I stopped watching it. Also, the "new" livestream chat sucks, try doing it in the old one.

I have no idea how to access any other chat. Probably one of the many things they want you to pay for.
And I had some suspicion this badly planned badly timed event would have trouble taking off. Sure don't mind that I tried, anyway. Next time I'm feelin random I'll be sure to try and schedule it at least three days in advance.
