Default Help with excel

So... i'm trying to get my head around this stupid ass thing people call Teh Excels... (i really don't love the Excel)

I have a Spreadsheet here. Columns B to Y, Rows 2 to 18.

I need to generate a Dynamic chart that uses only some of these Columns but all of the rows.

I simply cannot accomplish that. Spent most of my working day doing it and failling at it.

Just to give a little context, i need to trace a block of numbers across the year. So i have 1 column for each month.

B D F H I J L N P R T V X (the in between are just static data i need in place)

And the rows are the sources for the numbers i have to track, 2-18.

If i manually select every cell (Crtl Click) and set a Chart, it gives me a Horizontal Reading of the sources and a vertical reading of the total values. It looks super weird.

What i wanted to try to do was have a chart that gave me a horizontal line of the months, and a reading of each source across these months. But since i have those static columns in between, they screwup the reading completely. I managed to hide these columns, and then it works perfectly. But when i unhide them, it gets screwy again and just looks like a mess.

I dunno if i managed to make myself clear here... but i hope it gives an idea of what i'm trying to do.

Anybody has any ideas on how to put this up?!

Can you simply make another column that is fed entirely out of those particular rows (b4 = c3 blah blah blah) and then use that to make the chart?

When he drags down, that's like you dragging right. Except you want to skip some columns, so you'll have to do the ctrl+click thing.

If you can't get it to work like that, post an example excel file, and I can try to fiddle with it at work tomorrow (no excel at home).

EDIT: I suppose I should be clear, just in case: When I say example file, I mean made up data with only a few rows/columns.

I actually kinda managed. Not sure if i did it the hard way though.

You see, i have 17 sources, each with 2 columns per month (A and B)

So, just to be really detailed (boss likes it) i made a chart per source for the whole year

So that's 1 spreadsheet feeding 17 charts. Just from Column A from each month

Then, i learned how to use the Crtl + F3 function andi managed to copy the Data source of each Chart and feed it to a 3rd, overall chart.

So now i have 3 Spreadhseets into 1 Book, 1 Spreadsheet with 17 sources, feeding 17 charts, feeding 1 Big ass chart. And they all auto update, so next month when i input the new August digits, everything will update automatically with me just having to updated a 2 rows each month.

Tomorrow i'll repeat the process for Column B.

Its really dumb, i love it. Felt super hyped and i learned it was working!
