Riddick: A Boy and His Space Dog
Those expecting a lambasting of this film shall be disappointed.
Riddick is fun. Riddick is good. Riddick is like Predators but better. Riddick is like some space wolf taming, space scorpion killing, space machine. Riddick saw Starbuck's left (space?) boob at one point for a second. Riddick is like some space opera from the perspective of the hunter, the hunted, and the hunted hunter all at once. Riddick is at its heart about a space boy and his space dog. But with hoverbikes. Riddick is about what's in the space box. What's in the space box?! WHAT'S IN THE SPACE BOX?! Riddick is riddick riddick, riddick riddick riddick. Riddick. |

Pitch Black is still better.

I've only seen Pitch Black twice but I liked this one better. VERY similar, though. You can tell they were definitely trying to retcon as much of the second movie as possible (although it still logically follows from the ending of the second one) and do a movie as similar as possible to Pitch Black.

I swear, we need an internet archive for this sort of thing, but what about any problematic scenes in the movie? Really like to see this movie but I'd like to know if there is anything triggering contained within.

Oh, okay, uh
SPOILERS Santana the evil bounty hunter leader has a woman in chains in the ship. It is implied she has been raped in the dialogue. When the one guy lets her go Santana shoots her before she can escape There is an attempted rape on screen but Starbuck beats the shit out of Santana, but you don't know that before hand/while its happening and its only later on you find out she beat him up so I guess that might trigger some people. That is what you mean by triggers right? Like a trigger warning? Last edited by Magus; 09-08-2013 at 04:42 PM. |

I want to see Call of Duty Dog try to contest Riddick Dog's state as most emotionally moving dog character to come out in media recently.
You know, because the CoD teams can't write for shit and felt stupidly proud of themselves for adding a dog into their next game. |

Yeah an internet database would make sense because then it could be edited/added to by everyone which would probably allow it to actually make a difference since at this point there aren't any real trigger warnings in media other than the ratings warnings I guess, which are kind of vague (like for example the remake of The Last House on the Left probably had a warning in the rating description that it had a rape scene, but it neglected to mention the rape scene was excruciatingly long).
Re: Space Dog I haven't played CoD to compare but I have the feeling that Dingo Dongo is more heartpulling than CoD's dog because he's weird looking, so you have that "Pug is so ugly it's cute" factor, also it's his only companion for a long segment of the movie, and also he's from space. |
