Serious "The Sessions" or "Sex As Therapy"

Looks like a really sweet film. But what kind of doctor prescribes sex therapy?

Apparently the term is "Sexual Surrogate." Huh. Well, um... I'm not entirely sure how I feel about this new information.

Well the little bit on Wikipedia about states the use of a sexual surrogate is incredibly rare and probably doesn't focus on full on intercourse. Also it's presumably being overseen by a certified therapist.

So I have the feeling this movie was written by somebody exaggerating what a sexual surrogate is to get a movie out of it.
