Netflix is rebooting Magic School Bus guys!

Netflix and Scholastic Media announced Wednesday they will join forces to launch a new series for kids, based on the award-winning '90s hit “The Magic School Bus.”

The only problem I see ahead (besides the name) is the following:

The new show, titled “The Magic School Bus 360°," will be a CGI re-imagining of the original series. The reboot will feature a modernized Ms. Frizzle and her class, along with a new bus equipped with some inventive and high-tech equipment to help a new generation of kids explore the world of science. The 26 new episodes will be available to stream on Netflix in 2016.

CGI kid shows rarely ever look watchable. Granted, the kids who see them will be just as entertained by the blocky budget animation while they are learning, but I don;t think this is something that parents (or the rest of us) will be able to sit through. We'll have to wait and see.

Without a doubt it will age super super fast... just look at any CG cartoon we have around today and look the ones we had 10 years ago...

If they are using CG because it's cheaper than hand drawings, well... if that's the case then quality is not top priority

If they are smart they will stylize it, that holds up alot better. What gets me is the idea of modernizing Ms Frizzle, kind of the idea behind her is she seems out of place. So you never quite knew what her deal was.

Though its great to hear of a show like this. There is sadly a huge gulf in edu-tainment between Dora and Mythbusters. If we don't perk curiosity with stuff they can wrap their heads around they wont delve deeper into the subject.
