Ad Spamming
As I've had to say three times already in one night:
"If this company would like to advertise with Nuklear Power, ask them talk to Brian about buying space on the main page. Our forums are not their free marketing database." I think we all get enough AMAZING LIMITED TIME ONLY FREE FREE FREE!!!!111 offers in our inboxes on a daily basis without having to see them here. I know two of the three people I've warned about this already probably just wanted to share something cool with everyone else, and that's nice and all, but it still treads a little too closely to ad-spamming to be allowed. If someone's legitimately offering something that awesome, people will find out about it eventually without your help. We don't mean that you can't post things like "Hey, I'm moving to Malaysia and have to sell off a bunch of my old games and consoles on eBay, so if you guys are interested, here's a link to my auctions", or "Here's my first webcomic, please tell me what you think", or things like that. There's a big difference between a flyer for a garage sale down the street and a GET RICH QUICK FOR REAL HONEST TO GOD NOTHING ILLEGAL GOING ON HERE!!!! neon billboard. If you've got something like this you want people to see and you're not sure whether it counts as ad-spamming or not, please PM a mod or ask in the "Forum-related" section and we'll help you figure it out.
