I just got "anthology" today... any tips on FFV?

Meh...Blue Mages are hard to use. Here are some favorite combos:

Fighter/Mystic Knight: Fighter to start with and get Cover/Guard. Get Mystic Knight to a high level so you don't have to waste money on an assortment of elemental weapons.

Time Mage/Summoner: Quick+Multiple summons in a row is nice

Red Mage/White or Black Mage: Allows for double casting high level spells, in addition to dabbling in low level magic of the other color.

Ninja/Archer: Ninja for Double Weapons, and Archer for X-Attack. 4 Attacks. Use with Base Job on bosses to unload unbelievable damage on monsters.

Samurai/Thief: Incredible Evade. Getting hit should be rare.

Jobs to avoid: Berserker, Dancer, Bard, Dragoon, Monk

A note on the Mime: The Mime Inherits the traits of mastered classes before it. So mastering a Monk and a Black Mage class and then switching to Mime, Means that the Mime inherits the huge HP of a monk and Mag Atk of a Black Mage. Also Mimes can equip three abilities, instead of the usual one (or two for bare); meaning you can make some killer combos (Mystic Knight+Archer+Ninja = 8x Elemental Attack) or (Time Mage + Red Mage + Any other magic discipline = 5 spells a round). Experiment and find some nice combinations, especially late game when it becomes a breeze to level th party up.

They have Black Mages, White Mages, Thiefs, Monks, Red Mages, and a knight (Fighter) in there already there PsyBlade.

And I do have one combo that works very well. Create a Mimic, and give it the Jump ability+ the 2-handed ability from the Ninja. However, you don't get that until the last world. Most of the game I usually had a Knight, a Dragoon, a mage of some kind equipped with White Magic, and a Ninja/Samuari, depending on the situation.

And what's wrong with Dragoons there Raerlyyn? Or do you just not like them?

Ok, no go on the dancer and bard, I got. But why no dragoon? The dragoon helped me a lot in FFIV...

It probably has poor stats I dunno.

One of my favorite combos is two hand/buildup quadruple damage in one swing.
I also combine BM/WM for high level magic in both colors.

Dragoon's stats are about the same as the Knight's I beleve, except for slightly lower attack, but higher defence.

Me, I ran a Knight-Red Mage-Ninja-Mime, a Thief-Sorceress-Time Mage-Mime, a Monk-White Mage-Samurai-Mime, and a Black Mage-Blue Mage-Summoner-Mime. I especially liked having my white magic user have insane HP, defense, and evasion.
