No, they just got the Gothicular membrane, like was said before. It made him shut up, so they figured they either got that or his heart. Looky here

Even if they got his heart, it's a common theme in vampire lore that if the stake is removed from the heart then the vampire will be free to regenerate and bring doom/bad poetry to the world once again.
